The IEEE Power and Energy Society at the University of Manchester is excited to announce a site visit to Statkraft’s Lister Drive Greener Grid Park in Liverpool on October 23, 2024. This is a guided visit to the Lister Drive Greener Grid Park which will include a tour of the site and talks from representatives of Statkraft and ABB. Statkraft is a leading company in hydropower internationally and Europe’s largest generator of renewable energy. The group produces hydro, wind, solar, and gas-fired power, and supplies district heating. Statkraft is a global company in energy market operations and has over 6,000 employees in more than 20 countries. The Lister Drive Greener Grid Park provides grid stability services to maximise the amount of renewables that can utilised on the grid.
The visit is co-sponsored by our PES group and the Department of EEE. Transport will be provided to and from the site, leaving from and returning to the Nancy Rothwell Building. After registering, you must pay £6 via bank transfer within 48 hours of registering in order to reserve your spot. You will receive an email confirming your official registration upon payment.
